Step 1: Complete administrative paperwork:
  • Building Permit & Fee (Tensas Parish Police Jury).
  • Electrical Uitilty Co-op Membership w/ Deposit (NELA Power Cooperative).
  • Water Utility Membership w/ Deposit (Tensas Water Distribution).
  • Temporary On-Site Wastewater Treatment Permit (Franklin Parish Health Unit).
Step 2: Request temporary power, if applicable (NELA Power Cooperative).
Step 3: Begin construction or move building onto your lot.
Step 4: Have sewer system installed (licensed Mo-dad installer).
Step 5: Have water meter installed (Tensas Water Dist.).
Step 6: Set electrical service pole (NELA Power Cooperative).
Step 7: Connect meter loop onto service pole and complete underground runs (licensed electrician).
Step 8: Call Tensas Parish for your final building inspection (Tensas Parish Police Jury).
Step 9: Call for permanent power to be connected (NELA Power Cooperative).
Step 10: Move in!
